Biochemical changes and manifestations of envenomation produced by Odonthobuthus doriae venom in rabbits J. Venom. Anim. Toxins incl. Trop. Dis.
Mirakabadi,A. Z.; Jalali,A.; Jahromi,A. E.; Vatanpur,H.; Akbary,A..
Many toxins from scorpion venoms cause neurotransmitters release by activating the autonomic system. The aim of the present work was to determine osmotic fragility of red blood cells (RBCs) and serum biochemical changes produced by the venom of Odonthobuthus doriae (O. doriae), a dangerous species of scorpion in Iran. For this study we selected 2 groups, each one containing 10 New Zealand white rabbits weighing 2 ± 0.2 kg. In vivo and in vitro osmotic fragilities as well as packed cell volume (PCV) were determined. Serum was separated and used for determination of glucose, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), creatinine, uric acid (UA), triglycerides, cholesterol, aspartate aminotransferase (AST, EC 2.6.1.1), and alanine aminotransferase (ALT, EC 2.6.1.2). Clinical and biochemical manifestation produced by scorpion (Hemiscorpius lepturus) venom in experimental animals J. Venom. Anim. Toxins incl. Trop. Dis.
Mirakabbadi A.,Zare; Zolfagharian,H.; Hedayat,A.; Jalali,A..
Several studies have been published about the clinical and biochemical manifestations produced by the venom of scorpions of the Buthidae family, but very few reports have indicated the manifestations induced by the venom of the Scorpionidae family. Hemiscorpius lepturus is an important scorpion species present in the south and southwestern part of Iran, causing morbidity and mortality in children and adults. For the present study, H. lepturus venom was extracted by electric shock and subcutaneously injected (6.3mg/kg) into a group of six rabbits. Blood collection was carried out before and three hours after venom injection for determination of osmotic fragility and levels of blood sugar, alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST),...

Effets de la turbidité sur les palourdes adultes Ruditapes philippinarum (Adams & Reeve) : croissance, mortalité, effort de reproduction, composition biochimique ArchiMer
Daou, Rafik; Goulletquer, Philippe.
Following observations on disparity in the growth of the Manila clam bred in the field, laboratory experiments were conducted to test the turbidity. This factor influenced the growth and mortality of Manila clam. The reproductive effort, growth and mortality of two populations were followed, one being cultivated in water with high levels on silt. A biochemical survey permitted the response to the effect of mineral particles to be estimated

Effets de l'apport de phytoplancton (Skeletonema costatum) sur la croissance et les variations de la composition biochimique de la palourde japonaise Ruditapes philippinarum cultivée en marais ArchiMer
Baud, Jean-pierre; Haure, Joel; Garnier, Jacqueline.
A bulk production of phytoplankton (Skelelonema costatum) has been obtained in concrete tanks from saline groundwater. This was used in various concentrations to feed an intensive cultivation of the Manila clam (Ruditapes philippinarum) in ponds. No difference was observed in growth rates of molluscs, with food concentrations between 31 to 126 µg/l Chl a. However, the growth rates obtained from March to November with a food supplement were 1.5 times higher than those observed in the traditional, extensive cultivation. The biomass doubled and the increase in flesh dry weight was 2.5 times higher. The condition index reached a value of 100 in the intensive cultivation. During growth, the proximate composition analysis revealed that the lipid and carbohydrate...

Transformation du matériel fécal de Crassostrea gigas: évolution biochimique à court terme ArchiMer
Deslous-paoli, Jean-marc; Jousset, Jacques.
